Ever have a close call with another biker or a pothole or a car?
Ever watched as another biker had a near miss with danger or disaster?
Ever thought, “wow, why the heck is she or he riding like that?”.
Yes indeed, biking is fun but biking also puts us into situations where an accident may not be too far away.
During the February 2026 edition of HBC’s Smart Cycling, join Rita and Alan for a presentation and discussion about bicycling situational awareness and how you may avoid close calls, danger and disaster. The presentation will include clear breakdowns of bicycle-car and bicycle-bicycle accident scenarios plus practical "what could be done" guidance focused on safety and accident avoidance.
We’ll gather at 6:00 pm on Friday February 20, 2026 in the Edina Davanni’s party room located at 5124 Gus Young Lane. This Davanni's is about two blocks west of the intersection of Hwy 100 and 50th/Vernon. There is road construction in the area so plan for delays.
Enjoy a Davanni’s dinner (bring your own wallet experience) during the first 30-45 minutes of our event. To avoid a crush of attendees ordering in person at the same time, the Davanni’s manager asks that we order our dinner in advance: https://www.davannis.com/edina/ Specify the Edina location when you order.
