About a 9 mile bike ride out and back on the same trail intended to ease all enthusiastic bike riders back into riding after this long winter. The address given as the start point is the one you should put into your GPS (or google maps) but continue driving to the parking lot about another mile. Ride along the river and along Black Dog Lake on a flat well paved trail. Make sure to stop at the overlook of the lake after about 2.5 miles.

Want more miles? Repeat the trail or part of it the views of the river, the green grass and the chirping of the birds are a treat.

What a nice ride! It would be great for bird watchers. I also enjoyed seeing the bridge construction work under I 35. I was tempted to continue the route by crossing under the Cedar Ave Bridge and hooking up with that trail, but had some other things to get done. Maybe you could add that to the ride in the future.

I started at Cliff Road and did this in reverse of how it was listed. Added miles by continuing to Mendota and back on the non-paved Trail.
