Rita Wilczek and Alan Wichman invite you to participate in the HBC ALS Bike Ride Long Route. This 53 mile ride moves along quiet roads in rural Washington County past horse farms, through small towns and along forested lanes.

In addition to providing an enjoyable bike ride, this event has a charitable purpose--to build awareness about ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Rita's brother Mark passed away from ALS in 2007. It is in his memory that Rita and Alan captain this event.

The charitable purpose of this ride is also to request a donation (free-will) to the ALS Therapy Development Institute (TDI), a research organization devoted to finding treatments and ultimately a cure for ALS. To donate go to https://fundraise.als.net/alsbikeride and click the 'Donate' link at the top of the page. Enter your information. Please also click 'In Memory/Honor Of' and then enter the name, Mark Wilczek or Mark's Team. Your donation will be confidential. The ALS TDI will provide Rita with the total donations to Mark's Team to enable us to complete a match.

Please visit the ALS TDI site, https://www.als.net/ and review research projects, therapies in development and the compelling patient stories.

Always enjoy the ALS ride. Especially nice this year to see some 'live' HBC buddies! Thanks Alan and Rita.
